The Narwhal’s Indigenous Journalism Fellowship
This one-year, full-time fellowship, offered in partnership with the Indigenous Journalists Association and IndigiNews, offers an early-career Indigenous journalist the opportunity to join The Narwhal and develop their investigative, writing and reporting skills. The fellowship recognizes that Indigenous journalists are underrepresented in Canadian media, and that mentorship by Indigenous editors at The Narwhal and IndigiNews provides valuable insight and support in tackling complex, culturally-sensitive issues.
The B.C.-based fellowship position emphasizes on-the-ground reporting in Indigenous communities across the province, focusing on under-represented communities and nuanced storytelling.
